How can we Save Holden ? 2 If our Federal Government were to offer #GM to purchase a 50% stake in #Holden as a Partner , then this Business Partnership would raise the Capital necessary for the long term survival of the Carmaker . For those who think that our Government cannot afford to do this , it needs to be understood that the Costs of the Tidal Wave of #Unemployment created in Adelaide by the Factory closure , and the associated problems related to crime , will far exceed the Capital required for Partnership . It is not realistic to think that other Car Companies would come into Australia to manufacture Cars here and buy the Holden factory , without massive Government support . Some Property Commentators are predicting a drop in Property Prices of between 10-20% in the Northern Adelaide suburbs just because subject of closing Holden is being discussed . If Holden closes this will have a devastating effect on unemployment in the Northern suburbs . If you don't have a job, then you cannot pay the high rents that the rich need to keep getting their annual return increase . If you lose your job you cannot afford to pay for your Mortgage if you own your Home . The rich need to think about the consequences for their Property Portfolio if Holden closes, instead of complaining about the Government supporting Holden.
