Does Holden produce Cars that we want to Buy ? The argument that Holden does not produce Cars that Australians want to Buy is one of the most absurd by the Economic Advisers. The Advisers need to open their eyes and look out the windows of their BMW's on the way to work. They should count the number of Commodores on the road. Commodore Sales have dropped recently because Households are feeling the pinch of a very tough Economy. The new Car purchase has simply been delayed until things get better. Once things pickup again Australians will be back purchasing one of their all time favourite Cars, the Commodore. The Commodore is popular because it suits the needs of Australian families. If you have a growing family you cannot fit baby capsules, child seats and prams in a tiny imported Car. Recently I tried to sit in the front passenger seat of a tiny imported Car, that had a baby capsule behind it on the back seat. This pushed my passenger seat so far forward I could not fit my legs in the front of the passenger seat. If this had been a Commodore there would have been plenty of room plus more. Ok, the Commodore may not suit the needs of all young females, but Holden is now producing the outstanding Cruze which is a brilliant Car. It is time we started questioning the motives of silly Economic Advisers who push the nonsense line " Australians don't want to buy Holdens ". - Your Small Car is costing you a lot more than you think -

The Cycle of a $ spent to help Save Holden . The Government gives a $ to Holden to keep it in Business. This means Holden employs 'Jack' , who then buys a house in Elizabeth from the local Real Estate Agent . The Real Estate Agent then expands and rents a new office from Frank. Frank now can pay the Mortgage on the Property , which was in arrears because there was previously no tenant, to the local Bank Branch Manager Sam. Sam then gets a bonus from the Bank for reaching his monthly Goals, so he decides to get that Swimming Pool for his Paralowie home that his family has been asking for. The Swimming Pool business had been quiet lately and really needed this order. They decide to keep their employees that they were going to lay off. That evening the Pool business employees decide to celebrate at the local Restaurant . The Restaurant is packed out that night with Holden employees who are celebrating the announcement that day by the SA Government to keep supporting Holden. The next day the Restaurant owner buys a new Holden Commodore because her expanding family can no longer fit in her current small car ! The same $ that the Government gives to support Holden is spent over and over again in different Businesses throughout the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide . If we close the Holden factory, not only will 1000's of Holden employees lose their jobs, every Small Business in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide will be negatively effected. UNEMPLOYMENT will skyrocket ! - What will happen to unemployment in the Northern Suburbs if Holden closes ?
